Warm Honey Grapefruit

Spring, especially, invites a warm and light breakfast. When we eat our first meal between the hours of 6am and 10 am, we are in kapha time and things are moving slowly and the body is heavy and cold. As in all things Ayurveda, like increases like and so a heavy morning meal can leave us sluggish all day. This light and warm meal, with the inclusion of sour and bitter tastes, help stimulate bile production. Can be taken raw for strong digestion but is recommended broiled for most!

1 grapefruit

1 TBSP raw honey

Ground cardamom

Peel or cut your grapefruit with a grapefruit knife. If peeled, cut into thin slices. Place grapefruit into an oven safe bowl. Broil on high for 5-7 minutes, remove and drizzle with honey and sprinkle with cardamom.

Enjoy!
